Kris Aquino on health status: 'Life can be lonely, and being sick is a day-to-day battle'

Kris Aquino took to social media to discuss her ongoing health battle. She stated that being sick is a daily struggle, but she is not ready to give up.

On Instagram, Kris wrote: "Please let my art cards tell my story. We don’t always end up with the one we love, sometimes we don’t even end up with a life partner. Life can be lonely, and being sick is a day-to-day battle. Right now, I’m not winning… but #bawalsumuko #tuloyanglaban."

In one of the art cards, Kris expressed gratitude to her former boyfriend, Dr. Mike Padlan, for checking in on her during her stays in Los Angeles.

"Doc Mike, I apologize for not stating this in my earlier post," she wrote. Kris also expressed gratitude to Dr. Mike for diagnosing her shingles.

Kris added: "For the first time in years, seeing a man, a doctor watching over me, I felt safe." She also talked about meeting Dr. Mike's siblings, who live in the Bay Area and come over to visit her.

Prior, Kris also revealed she had been suffering from Lupus Flare fever for more than two weeks.

The National Resource Center on Lupus said a lupus "flare" or "flare up" is when your lupus symptoms worsen and you feel ill as a result. 

"The formal definition of a flare is: A measurable increase in disease activity in one or more organ systems involving new or worse clinical signs and symptoms and/or lab measurements. The assessor (physician or clinical researcher) must consider the increase clinically significant, and in most cases, it should prompt the consideration of a change or an increase in treatment.

"Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disorder characterized by unpredictable disease flares and remissions (when the symptoms improve and you feel better)."

Kris asked prayers as she struggled with Lupus Flare fever. In the caption, she wrote: "This is MY NOW… I want you to see the pain and struggle so that you will continue to pray. I have Lupus Flare fever now. It’s been more than 2 weeks."
