ILOILO CITY – The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology is investigating a jail officer for alleged involvement in the illegal drugs trade here and the province of Iloilo.

The jail officer was named by a major drug suspect as his supplier of suspected shabu valued at P2.3 million seized in Jaro, Iloilo City last April 2.
BJMP-6 head Jail Chief Supt. Simeon Dolojo Jr. has directed the BJMP-6 Regional Investigation and Prosecution Division to conduct an in-depth investigation.
The jail officer from Capiz province has only been with the BJMP for three years and was assigned at the jail facility in Dumangas town, Iloilo.
“We will not hesitate to terminate and dismiss any personnel, regardless of rank, if they are found to be involved in any illegal activities,” said Dolojo in a statement.
The jail officer is under restrictive status while under investigation.
He has been pulled out of Dumangas and currently reporting at the BJMP-6 regional office in Iloilo City.
