In a media interview in Bohol on Monday, April 28, the Vice President said she has no other scheduled appearance in the PDP-Laban’s campaign sorties except the Miting de Avance at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila.
“Dahil noong nag-decide ako na mangampanya para sa mga senators ni President Duterte, noong dinala siya sa the Hague, tapos na iyong schedule na ginawa ng PDP. Hindi na siya pwede baguhin dahil nakahanda na lahat ng mga tao (When I decided to campaign for the senators of [former] president Duterte when be was brought to The Hague, the PDP’s schedule is already finished. It cannot be changed because everyone’s ready),” she explained.
“So, ang napag-usapan namin ng Secretary General ng PDP, si Atty. Wendel Avisado is that doon ako sa Miting de Avance sasali (So, what I talked about with PDP Secretary General, Atty. Wendel Avisado, is that I will join the Miting de Avance),” she added.
The so-called “Duter10” senatorial candidates of former president Duterte’s PDP-Laban are Senators Bato dela Rosa and Bong Go, lawyers Jimmy Bondoc, Vic Rodriguez, JV Hinlo, Raul Lambino, former movie actor Philip Salvador, Sagip Partylist Rep. Rodante Marcoleta, Pastor Apollo Quibuloy, and Dr. Richard Mata.
Duterte also confirmed her endorsements of presidential sister Senator Imee Marcos and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar, both of whom appeared in campaign ads with her.
However, she earlier confirmed that her endorsement of Marcos and Imee does not have the blessing of the former president, who asked his supporters through her to vote straight his PDP-Laban bets.
The Vice President also dismissed Malacañang’s claim that her father’s arrest was unplanned.
“Ang mga tao na lang ang pasagutin nila. At dapat nakikita na nila ngayon kung gaano kagalit ang mga tao sa ginawa nila (Let the people speak. They should see by now how they made the people angry because of what they did),” Duterte said, noting both her impeachment by the House of Representatives and the “kidnapping” of former president.
“Tanungin nila ang mga tao, naiintindihan nila, naiintindihan ng mga tao at napapakita nila iyon sa galit nila ngayon (They should ask the people, they understand and they show it through their anger),” she added.
