A suspected Chinese spy has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Tuesday, April 29.

In a text message, NBI National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) Regional Director Ferdinand Lavin identified the suspected spy as Tak Hoi Lao.
“We are now preparing the documents for the filing of charges,” Lavin said.
He also said the suspected spy will face charges of violations of the Philippines Espionage Act in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
Tak was arrested inside a vehicle parked near the offices of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in Intramuros, Manila.
Found installed in the vehicle was an international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) catcher that can intercept messages from cellular phones, the NBI said.
