Police apprehended a man wanted for seven counts of rape and tagged as the province of Quirino’s second most wanted person on April 27 in Barangay Cayambanan, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.

The Quirino Police Provincial Office identified the suspect as alias "Amang" from Nagtipunan, Quirino.
Police said the suspect allegedly abused his stepdaughter seven times inside their home. The victim suffered significant trauma and filed cases as a result.
No bail was recommended for the suspect who faces charges for violating the Anti-Rape Law of 1997 (Republic Act 8353) in relation to the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act (RA 7610).
Police Col. Paul Y. Gamido, Quirino police chief, lauded the arrest of the suspect.
“The Quirino Police Provincial Office, under my leadership, will tirelessly conduct operations to keep our province safe and peaceful. We encourage everyone to refrain from any unlawful activities as crime has no place in our community,” Gamido said.
