Marcos orders MRT-3, LRT-1 and 2 to offer free rides for Labor Day celebration

The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3), Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1), and Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will offer free rides from April 30 to May 3 for the celebration of Labor Day, President Marcos announced.

Marcos bared on Tuesday, April 29, that he ordered the three railway system in Metro Manila to offer free rides to honor Filipino workers.

The President further said that the move aims to recognize the contributions and sacrifices of all workers to the country's economy.

"Nais kong sabihin sa lahat ng ating mga commuter ay inutos ko na para magbigay ng ating kaunting parangal sa ating mga manggagawa ngayon na Labor Day Celebration ay maging libre ang sakay sa MRT 3, LRT-1 and 2 (I would like to announce to all our commuters that in order to give a little recognition to our workers this Labor Day celebration I directed the MRT-3. LRT-1 and 2 to offer free rides)," Marcos said in a video message.

"Ito ay mula April 30 hanggang May 3. Ito ay bilang kaunting pagkilala sa sakripisyo at ang kontribusyon ng ating mga manggagawa hindi lamang sa ating ekonomiya kundi sa ating lipunan (This will run from April 30 to May 3. This served as a recognition to the sacrifices and contributions of our workers not only for our economy but our society). Happy Labor Day!," Marcos added.
