Man wanted for frustrated murder arrested in Cainta

A 22-year-old man, facing a frustrated murder charge for allegedly stabbing his drinking buddy in Barangay San Andres, Cainta, Rizal, on May 27, 2022, has been arrested by the police.

The suspect, alias "Mark," was apprehended in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued in 2023.

Based on the police report, Mark and three other men were having a drinking session when they had an argument with one of their buddies. This prompted them to stab him.

The victim was immediately brought to the hospital to receive medical treatment.

Mark denied the allegation against him, saying that he was just implicated in the crime.

"Nasama lang po ako noon na hindi ko alam na may gulong mangyayari. Tapos hindi ko po alam na may sinaksak… Nakatambay po ako sa kalsada tapos bigla na lang nila akong tinawag. Nagtago po ako eh (I was just implicated in the crime. I didn't have any idea that something bad was going to happen. I was just hanging out on the street when they called me about the incident)," Mark explained.

One of the suspects was arrested earlier in Cainta while the other suspect is still at large.

Mark is detained at the Cainta Municipal Police Station.
