K-pop artist Taeyeon's concert in Japan ultimately canceled

The concert in Japan of K-pop artist Taeyeon, a member of Girls’ Generation, was ultimately canceled by her agency. 

SM Entertainment earlier canceled the concert, “The Tense in Japan,” which was scheduled to take place on April 19 and 20. 

The agency announced the cancellation on April 17 due to the equipment for the concert not being able to be transported to Japan. 

Fans demanded an explanation from SM Entertainment as they expressed frustration about what happened.

In a notice on April 29, SM Entertainment said, “Following the initial notice regarding the cancellation, we thoroughly explored various alternatives, including the possibility of rescheduling.”

“Despite our efforts, due to challenges in securing a venue capable of accommodating the appropriate audience size while upholding the quality standards of the performance, we regret to inform you that the Tokyo concerts have been officially canceled,” it said. 

It added, “We are-sincerely apologize for the disappointment this may cause to the fans who have been patiently waiting, and we ask for your kind understanding regarding the time taken to arrive at this final decision, as we diligently considered all possible options.”

As a result, “All tickets will be fully refunded. Please check your My Page or email from original point of purchase by April 30th (Wednesday) for confirmation.”
