Members of the Manila Police District (MPD) Moriones-Tondo Police Station (PS2) arrested a man who allegedly stole a motorcycle in Tondo, Manila.
The suspect, identified as Jomel, 39, a tricycle driver and resident of Brgy. 88, Tondo, was apprehended in a follow-up operation by personnel of the Bambang Outpost.
He is currently under police custody.
The victim, Ronnel Villafuerte, 33, a security guard and resident of Brgy. 252, Tondo, reported the incident to authorities after discovering that his Suzuki Smash motorcycle, valued at P85,000, had been stolen outside his residence.
The theft occurred between 10 p. m. on April 24 and 4:30 a. m. on April 25.
The victim admitted to unintentionally leaving the key in the ignition.
Recovered from Matic was the stolen motorcycle.
Police said his accomplice, identified as Rodin, 35, remains at large.
Follow-up operations are ongoing.
A criminal complaint for violation of Republic Act No. 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016) was filed against the arrested suspect.
