Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco signs a memorandum of agreement on plastic waste recovery with Green Antz Builders on April 28, 2025.
Under the agreement, Green Antz will provide advanced machinery and technology, conduct community training on proper waste segregation, manage the City’s Material Recovery Facility (MRF), and regularly collect clean, dry plastic waste from the facility.
The program also features an incentive plan to encourage active participation among residents.
Mayor Tiangco emphasized that the initiative aligns with Navotas' commitment to environmental protection and sustainability, urging Navoteños to support the program through proper waste segregation and responsible disposal.
“This partnership with Green Antz strengthens our efforts towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Navotas. Through proper waste management and active community participation, we can make a significant impact for future generations," Tiangco said.
He also called on residents to avoid disposing plastic waste into waterways, highlighting the importance of small, everyday actions in protecting the environment.
“We urge everyone to cooperate by segregating their waste correctly and, most importantly, refraining from throwing plastic garbage into waterways and other bodies of water. Our small everyday actions can have a huge impact in protecting our environment and our future,” he added. (Jhoana Mae Delfin)
