The former senator attended the campaign rally of the Rebolusyonaryong Alyansang Makabansa (RAM) Partylist in Baguio City, where he underscored the importance of using the country’s funds wisely to ensure peace, progress, and development.
“Kung nasa tamang lugar lang ang paggastos ng kaban ng bayan, napakarami pong kayang umangat sa ating bansa. Napakaraming bagay ang pwedeng mapondohan (If we are spending public funds wisely, it’ll help many improve their lives. We can also fund a lot of things),” he said.
“Kung ang pera ng bayan, napangangalagaan, pinoprotektahan, at na-a-allocate sa tama, kayang umangat ng ating bansa (If we take care of, protect, and rightfully allocate public funds, our country can improve),” he added.
The former senator stressed that by using funds wisely and corruption is curbed, more can be allocated for education, social aid, housing, food programs, and infrastructure.
Providing more budget for free education, Aquino’s advocacy, is one of the things that he will focus on if he wins a Senate seat in next month’s polls.
He will also ensure that there are enough jobs available for senior high school and college students.
In particular, the Free College Law, a law he principally authored, will benefit an education hub like Baguio City as it provides the youth access to education opportunities.
Aside from his promise of free education and guaranteed jobs, Aquino likewise plans to strengthen the tourism industry and support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME).
The former senator is the author of the Go Negosyo Act, which facilitates job generation in the country and extends support to SMSEs.
