The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Monday, April 28, there will be delays in the issuance of clearances due to the "upgrading of computer server to ensure the operational reliability of online services and clearance processing."

“As a result, there will be a delay in the release of Clearance Certificates, particularly for clearance applications made on April 25, 2025,” the NBI said in a statement.
It said the release date for the April 25 clearance applications will be on May 5.
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) explained in its website that NBI clearance is “a vital document in the Philippines” that verifies criminal records of an individual.
“The NBI Clearance acts as a certificate of good conduct, assuring potential employers, government agencies, and other institutions that you have no criminal history in the Philippines,” the PSA said.
“This can be a vital step in securing employment, applying for licenses, or simply fulfilling specific requirements,” it also said.
