Adamson might be heading home from a fruitless campaign in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament, but the school found something to look forward to in the years to come.

Shai Nitura broke records one after another in a rookie performance worthy of celebration, but the young star would rather give the team a victory than make a name for herself.
“Bonus ‘yon eh, nakaka-boost ‘yon individually, pero focus pa rin ako for the team kasi volleyball nga is a team sport,” she added.
For coach JP Yude, the next goal is to further polish his wards and make Adamson a threat to each of its rivals in the tournament.
“Kailangan pa naming pulido do’n sa training ground, so pagdating ng totoong laban they are really equipped na lumaban ng todo, magra-rise pa’yong level ng Adamson,” said Yude.
“Hindi lang kami [gaya] ng dati ng ‘Adamson lang ‘yan’, diba [dapat] ay Adamson ‘yan dapat paghandaan natin’, pero kailangan pa naming patunayan at pagtrabahuhan… so I always remind them na stay humble all the time,” he added.
At 20 years old, Nitura achieved numerous feats that included an overall scoring record of 371 points – a number that has never been done in all senior divisions of the league’s history. She also had six 30-point games in a single season.
The pride of Cainta, Rizal eclipsed former collegiate superstar Alyssa Valdez's total of 312 points, and also recorded a 38 in a win over University of the Philippines last month. In her UAAP women's debut, she had 33 against Ateneo.
But her individual achievements were not enough to please Nitura as they fell short of earning a Final Four ticket with a 6-8 card.
They finished the eliminations with a 25-13, 25-21, 25-18 win over University of the Philippines Sunday, April 27.
“‘Di ko po talaga ma-describe, God’s will, ‘yon din po talaga, lahat ng nangyari is will Niya,” Nitura continued.. “Ang goal ko lang talaga ngayon is manalo… and gusto kolang mag-enjoy with team.”
Adamson is poised for a better season next year with Nitura leading the way along with Francis Mordi and Fhei Sagaysay.
