Carl Tamayo put on a show and powered the Changwon LG Sakers past the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus, 84-75, to capture a 2-0 semifinal lead in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) Saturday, April 26.

The last time Changwon reached the finals was in the 2013-14 edition where it fell short of the crown after yielding to the once powerhouse Ulsan, 4-2, for back-to-back titles that ultimately extended to a three-peat the following season.
Tamayo and the Sakers will have their chance to conclude the best-of-five semis series over the Phoebus in Game 3 Monday, April 28.
The Gilas Pilipinas standout stood out with 22 points on top of five rebounds, one assist, and two steals, while Marei notched a stellar statline of 24 points, 18 rebounds, seven assists, four steals and one block.
Last time out, the erstwhile University of the Philippines Maroon had a decent seven-point, six-rebound, and two-assist performance.
Yu Ki-Sang and Yang Jun-Seok also provided 12 and 10 points, respectively, for Changwon.
Gaige Prim paced Ulsan with 16 points, while three of his other teammates cashed in double-digit scoring in a losing cause.
