NLEX fends off Blackwater for third straight win

  • NLEX went on a huge fourth quarter rally and fended off Blackwater, 80-72, to keep its streak going in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup at the brand-new Ynares Center Montalban on Friday, May 2.

The Road Warriors unloaded a pivotal 9-0 run to create some sort of separation from the Bossing before Robert Bolick put on the finishing touches for NLEX to improve to a 3-1 record in the standings.

Bolick scored eight of the last 12 points for NLEX to finish with 20 points to go along with his seven rebounds and six assists. He got ample support off the bench with JB Bahio adding 12 points and eight rebounds.

Kevin Alas and Dominic Fajardo chipped in 10 as the Road Warriors who hardly showed any signs of rust even after a nine-day rest.
