The San Miguel-Barangay Ginebra game did not only play out as the usual powerhouse duel in the league but also a reunion of sorts for former Terrafirma players who once upon a time turned heads and steered the Dyip franchise to one of its only two playoff appearances.

And that only happened because Juan Gomez De Liano took some time off and watched the game that featured former teammates Juami Tiongson and Andreas Cahilig, now already with the Beermen, and Stephen Holt and Isaac Go, now playing for the Kings.

The 6-foot-3 wingman is awaiting feelers from teams from overseas, in the KBL or in Japan B-League but also looking into possibilities of coming back into the PBA.
“I’m thinking about it, actually. I’m also waiting for offers from other leagues from Japan, Korea. But definitely, if I get a good offer here, I hope I do, so that it would give me a reason to stay here, be with family,” said Gomez De Liano.
He, however, admitted that he has not really got into serious negotiations just yet as his KBL stint just ended last week though he revealed that a PBA team has also expressed interest in getting his services.
“Mayroon eh, isa. Isang team, actually. We’re gonna meet pa lang eh. Pero wala, verbal pa lang,” said Gomez De Liano.
How that talk would play out will have a huge say in the future of Gomez De Liano’s career, especially now that he’s also looking to settle down.
“I’m at this point where I want to settle down na rin eh, nakakapagod din bumiyahe sa abroad,” said Gomez De Liano, whose rights in the PBA still belongs to Terrafirma.
