Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial candidate Las Piñas City lone district Rep. Camille Villar can't help but be reminded of her late grandfather after she attended an annual gathering of freemasons in Pasay City.
Villar, a deputy speaker in the House of Representatives, served as the guest of honor during the event of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines.
In her message, Camille Villar extolled the masonic virtues of fortitude, prudence, temperance, and justice—values she said are fundamental to building a strong and just society.
She also shared a personal connection to the fraternity, recalling that her grandfather, Dr. Filemon Aguilar, was a mason and a strong advocate of public service.
In honor of his legacy, the Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Lodge No. 332 in Las Piñas City was named after him.
Villar says that her grandfather’s example and values inspire her as a leader and public servant. She said she hopes to mirror Aguilar's steadfastness and compassion in her own service to the nation.
During the event, the aspiring senator lauded the organization’s close fraternal ties, their integrity, and their selflessness in the conduct of charity and philanthropic works in the country.
