Call center agent robbed after meeting man from dating app in Rizal

A 23-year-old call center agent was robbed by a man he matched with on a dating app and met in person in Barangay San Andres, Cainta, Rizal, on Wednesday, April 30.

The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) said that the victim, “Mar,” arranged to meet the suspect, identified as “CJ,” 18, whom he had met on a dating app, at a vacant lot in Barangay San Andres.

Police said the victim and the suspect arrived at the agreed meeting place, but the victim was shocked to see that CJ was accompanied by four other men.

They said the group was armed with a bladed weapon and a baseball bat and immediately declared a hold-up.

Out of fear and after being physically assaulted, the victim was forced to hand over P1,000 in cash and a mobile phone worth P55,000 to the suspects.

The suspects quickly fled the scene, while the victim immediately reported the incident to the authorities. It prompted the Cainta PNP, in coordination with Barangay San Andres, to conduct a follow-up investigation and operation that led to the arrest of CJ.

Meanwhile, the other four suspects, identified as "Gil," "France," "King," and "Doe," are still being hunted by the police.

CJ is now in the custody of the Cainta Municipal Police Station.
