Bato Dela Rosa: VP Sara's endorsement a big boost to PDP-Laban senatorial bets, guest candidates
Reelectionist Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa is confident that Vice President Sara Duterte's endorsement of candidates allied with the former administration would be of significant help in the upcoming 2025 midterm elections.
Dela Rosa, who is running under the Partido ng Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) that is allied with former President Rodrigo Duterte, said he is vouching on the vice president’s endorsement to boost their chances of winning.
"Malaking boost sa aming (This would be a big boost to our) chances of winning," Dela Rosa said.
Considering the Vice President's high trust rating, the former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief said there is a possibility that her supporters would heed her endorsement.
Dela Rosa was referring to Pulse Asia’s March 2025 Ulat ng Bayan survey that showed Duterte's approval and trust ratings rise.
The survey showed her approval rating increasing from 52 percent to 59 percent; while her disapproval rating dipping from 26 percent to 16 percent.
Meanwhile, her trust rating has risen from 53 percent in February to 61 percent in March, the Pulse Asia survey also showed.
"Alam naman nating out of all the national leaders, siya ang may pinakamataas na trust rating, 'di ba? Ibig sabihin, marami siyang followers (We know that out of all the national leaders, she has the highest trust rating, right? That means she has many followers),” Dela Rosa said.
The Vice President earlier called for a bloc vote for the candidates endorsed by her father.
That includes Dela Rosa, Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go, lawyers Jimmy Bondoc, Jayvee Hinlo and Raul Lambino, actor Philip Salvador and guest candidates SAGIP Party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, lawyer Vic Rodriguez, and Doctor Erik Mata.
"I feel happy. Despite the fact that my campaign strategy is guerilla style, yet the numbers are rising, the numbers are increasing," the re-electionist said.
