President Marcos rallied support for his senatorial slate on Saturday, saying the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas was formed not to stir division, but to solve the country’s problems — from national challenges to everyday struggles of ordinary Filipinos.

In his speech at the Batangas Sports Coliseum on Saturday, May 3, the President said his candidates are grounded in the realities of people’s lives and are ready to serve with compassion and sacrifice.

"Ang layunin lang po namin ay hindi po manggulo. Ang layunin namin ay ayusin ang mga problema (Our only goal is not to cause trouble. Our goal is to fix the problems),” Marcos said.

“Hindi lamang yung mga malalaking problema na hinaharap ng bansa, kundi pati ang maliliit na problema na hinaharap ng bawat mamamayang Pilipino sa kanilang buhay na pang-araw-araw (Not just the big problems facing the country, but also the small problems that every Filipino faces in their daily lives)," he added.

Marcos said his senatorial bets have the heart to listen and the will to act, which makes them fit to lead and legislate.

"Makikita naman po ninyo na meron silang puso na Pilipino. Meron silang puso na maging matulungin. Meron silang puso para magsakripisyo sa kapakanan ng bawat mamamayang Pilipino (You will see that they have the heart of a Filipino. They have the heart to help and to sacrifice for the welfare of every Filipino)," he said.

The President has been campaigning for 11 candidates after his sister, Senator Imee Marcos, bolted from Alyansa due to differences. However, some quarters noticed that Marcos skipped the name of Las Piñas lone district Representative Camille Villar in his Saturday speech, and her photo was not displayed. Villar and Senator Pia Cayetano were both absent from the campaign rally, but Cayetano was mentioned, and her photo was displayed at the venue.

Marcos said electing the Alyansa candidates would help ensure the continuity of his administration’s efforts to uplift the lives of Filipinos.

"Alam naman po natin na lahat ng aming ginagawa ay hindi na po para sa amin (We all know that everything we are doing is no longer for ourselves)," he said.

"Kaya po hinaharap ko sa inyo ang ating mga kandidato para sa senador na tutulong sa atin na ipagpatuloy ang ating sinimulan, ipagpatuloy ang pagpapaunlad ng ating bansa, ipagpatuloy ang lahat ng magagandang gawain para bigyan ng mas magandang buhay ang bawat Pilipino (That’s why I present to you our senatorial candidates who will help us continue what we have started— the progress of our country and all the good efforts to give every Filipino a better life)," he added.

According to Marcos, the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas was not formed for political drama but for pragmatic governance.

"Bagay na bagay na po sila na sila ang mamuno, sila ang pumasok sa Senado upang matugunan nila, mabigyan nila ng pansin, ng solusyon ang mga problemang nalalaman nila na nangyayari sa buong bansa (They are the right people to lead, to enter the Senate so they can address, give attention to, and find solutions to the problems they know are happening all over the country)," he said.

Saturday's rally was part of a series of campaign events by the President, who has been actively endorsing his senatorial lineup in the run-up to the May 12 midterm elections.

Marcos recently joined the Alyansa in similar rallies in Quezon and Pampanga, where he made similar calls for unity and progress through effective legislation and governance.
