These personnel from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-13 will serve as QRF in the three provinces in the region.
The sendoff was led by PRO-13 chief Police Brig. Gen. Christopher N. Abrahano, the Commission on Elections led by Assistant Regional Director Geraldine C. Samson, and BJMP Regional Chaplain Rev. Fr. Jail Supt. Aldrin P. Alaan, who officiated the prayer and blessing for deployed troops.
Thirteen personnel were deployed to Dinagat Islands, 68 to Surigao del Sur, and 85 to Surigao del Norte.
PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said they will assist the local units requiring additional manpower and help secure the movement of people, goods, and equipment during the elections.
Abrahano reminded troops to religiously uphold duty and protect the people.
“Remember that by wearing that uniform, you are no longer recognized by your name alone, but by the institution you present,” he said.
“Your presence will deter those who may attempt to disrupt the elections and reassure the community that they can cast their votes without fear for their safety and security,” he added.
