Foreign shipping firm opens clinic exclusive for Pinoy seafarers in Pasay City
A foreign shipping company opened on Friday, April 25, its first clinic in the country to assist Filipino seafarers in the pre-employment medical process and expedite the required health checks.
Carlos J. Gonzalez, chief medical officer of the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., said the NCLH Medical Clinic and Laboratory is located in Buendia in Pasay City and is designed to streamline the pre-employment medical process for cruise line crew members.

“The operation of the clinic will enable our cruise line crew members to complete necessary health checks efficiently and return to work promptly. By reducing delays, we not only support our crew's well-being and livelihood, but also enhance the overall guest experience on our ships,” said Gonzalez.
“This will be exclusive for Filipino seafarers,” he added.
NCLH operates the Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises brands and offer itineraries to more than 450 destinations worldwide.
Gonzales said clinic has compartmentalized departments, such as dental, ultrasound, X-ray, optical, clinical laboratory, ECG, treadmill stress testing, drug testing area, audiometry, and psychological testing room.
He said each department is equipped with modern medical technology and staffed by experienced, certified professionals across various specialties.
