Your ultimate guide to the K-Beauty Glow-Up event at SM Aura

Attention, Hallyu and K-beauty fans! The Korean Culture Center (KCC) and Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), in partnership with SM Aura Premier, officially kicked off the K-Beauty Glow-Up on Friday, April 25.

This two-day celebration of all things K-culture is packed with exciting activities for everyone to enjoy. The opening ceremony was graced by South Korea Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Sang-hwa, Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, actress Kyline Alcantara, SM Supermalls Executive Vice President for Marketing Joaquin San Agustin, and SM Supermalls Vice President for Corporate Marketing Grace Magno.

In her remarks, Secretary Frasco expressed gratitude to Ambassador Lee and shared her personal love for Korean beauty products.

“What makes K-culture truly special is not just the products or the technology but the deeper values behind them—selfcare, wellness, creativity, and confidence. As a working mother and a woman, I know how challenging it could be to practice self care and how empowering it can be if we do,” she said. “K-beauty is not just about perfection but honoring who you are, finding joy in your skin and expressing yourself with pride, with a little help of course of products and technology that make one’s beauty glow a little more brighter.”

She then invited guests to fully immerse themselves in the festivities. And with that, here’s your guide to making the most of the K-Beauty Glow-Up event:

1. Register at the entrance.
While the event is free and open to all, registration is required. Head to the registration area to get your guide map and stamp card, which serve as your all-access pass to the different activity zones.

2. Start slow with K-Fragrance: HyangGi.
Ease into the experience with a DIY fragrance-making activity. Inspired by Hyangnang, traditional Korean ornaments filled with incense and natural ingredients, you’ll get to craft your own scent pouch—a lovely charm for your bag or closet.

3. Try a professional Korean hair makeover.
One of the event’s biggest highlights is the hair makeover experience with Korean brand Jenny House. Skilled South Korean stylists flew in just for this, so don’t miss your chance to get styled like a K-drama star!

4. Discover your personal color palette.
Head over for a one-on-one personal color analysis by professional Korean color analysts. Slots are limited, so be sure to register early and wait for your turn.

5. Explore K-beauty brands and score freebies.
No K-beauty event is complete without skincare and makeup! Stop by the booths from Amore Pacific, featuring top brands like Laneige, Innisfree, Mise En Scene, and Hello Bubble—with chances to win or take home samples.

6. Catch live demos and inspiring talks.
Throughout the event, enjoy scheduled activities including hairstyling demos, makeup tutorials, and travel talks to inspire your next beauty or Korea adventure.
