ILOILO CITY – Police Col. Bayani Razalan is set to exit as the top cop of Iloilo province.

The Police Regional Office-6 confirmed that Razalan will be replaced as Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director. Razalan oversees police units in 42 towns and a component city.
PRO-6 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky said the order to transfer Razalan came from the office of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Gen. Rommel Marbil.
Wanky said clarified that the transfer order has yet to materialize as the move has to be approved by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
“As of now, Col. Razalan remains to be the provincial director of Iloilo,” Wanky told Manila Bulletin in a phone interview on Friday, April 25.
Razalan will be temporarily replaced by Police Col. Rolando Bulalacao, chief of the PRO-6 regional staff.
Wanky said he does not know the exact reason why Razalan will be transferred and could not confirm if politics is behind the transfer.
Razalan would have only served as Iloilo provincial police chief for over a year. He replaced Police Col. Ronaldo Palomo last April 2024.
He could not be reached for comments as of posting time.
