CEBU CITY – Packs of suspected shabu worth P8.6 million were seized in a buy-bust operation in Mandaue City on Friday, April 25.

Police said 1.2 kilos of shabu were recovered from Jem-jem, 41, in Barangay Ibabao-Estancia.
The operation was conducted by the City Intelligence Unit-City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO).
Police said the suspect, a resident of Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City, was listed as high-value individual.
Police Col. Cirilo Acosta Jr., chief of MCPO, said the confiscation of the huge amount of shabu was a result of an intensified campaign against illegal drugs that is strongly supported by the community.
“The Mandaue City Police Office remains steadfast in its resolve to dismantle drug networks and bring offenders to justice. This operation sends a clear message that we will not allow illegal drugs to destroy our communities,” said Acosta.
Acosta added that further investigation will be conducted to identify the suspect’s possible cohorts.
