It's a crucial weekend for the protagonists of the UAAP women's volleyball semifinals.
De La Salle and Far Eastern University clash in what is deemed a pivotal match for their twice-to-beat aspirations, with the victor on Saturday, April 26, increasing its chance of securing the last incentive come the Final Four.

Motivated by a hard-earned five-set win over the Shai Nitura-led Adamson Lady Falcons, the Lady Spikers (9-4) are eager to claim the semis bonus when they battle the Tamaraws (8-5) at 3 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Ateneo (4-9) and University of the East (0-13), meanwhile, collide at 1 p.m., with both squads seeking for a graceful exit in their respective campaigns.
A three-way tie for the second to fourth spots might happen if FEU comes out victorious against DLSU in their highly anticipated encounter. A three-set win for the Taft-based squad, however, would bolster its chances of securing the No. 2 seed and drop the Lady Tamaraws to fourth and push the UST Golden Tigresses to third.
“We have been given the opportunity to [take] the twice-to-beat, so ipu-push namin ‘yong sarili namin na mag-stay do’n and mahirap sya pero naniniwala naman kami na kaya namin,” said Angel Canino. “And hopefully we'll end the second round strong.”
Canino and Laput are out to lead the Lady Spikers’ attack with Amie Provido, rookie revelation Shane Retarte, Alleiah Malaluan, and playmaker Mikole Reyes at the forefront.
A hungry FEU side is expected to step on the floor as it previously suffered a 25-17, 25-20, 25-22 beating from La Salle in their first-round encounter last month, plus it also came from a four-set defeat to Adamson, no thanks to Nitura’s heroics.
The Lady Tamaraws rely on their main gunners in Faida Bakanke, Gerz Petallo, Chen Tagaod, Jean Asis and skipper Tin Ubaldo who orchestrates their offense.
