CEBU CITY – An illegal gun manufacturer was arrested in a police raid in Barangay Cahumayan, Danao City, northern Cebu on Friday, April 25.

The Criminal Investigation and Detention Group-Cebu Provincial Field Unit raided the house of Alejandro Castro Jr., 46, on a search warrant issued by Judge Maria Josefa Pinza Ramos of the Danao City Regional Trial Court Branch 90.
Seized from the raid spearheaded by Police Lt. Col. Randy Korret were four .45 caliber pistols, a magazine, and one caliber .38 revolver loaded with bullets.
Police said the suspect, a farmer, will be charged for violating Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The CIDG-7 said the operation was part of “Oplan: Paglalansag Omega,” the government’s flagship program against loose firearms.
