A fire hit a bulalo restaurant located at the ground floor of a condominium building on Primo Rivera Mola Street in Barangay La Paz, Makati City early Friday morning, April 25, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported.
The BFP said the fire started at around 1:40 a.m. and was declared fire out at 2:21 a.m.
Firefighters said no one was hurt during the incident, but a family of eight panicked and climbed towards the rooftop of the five-story building to escape the blaze.
They were rescued later and were reported to be in stable condition.
Makati BFP's initial investigation revealed that a faulty electrical line inside the restaurant's stock room may have been the cause of the fire.
Authorities estimated the amount of damage to property to around P1.6 million.
