22-wheeler crashes into NLEX tollbooth at Paso de Blas, Valenzuela

A 22-wheeler trailer truck loaded with animal feed crashed into a tollbooth along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Valenzuela City, on Thursday, April 24, nearly demolishing the entire booth due to the force of the impact.

Authorities said the incident happened around 12:00 a.m. at the southbound lane of the Paso de Blas exit.

Initial reports revealed that the truck driver miscalculated the distance between the vehicle and the tollbooth, resulting in a direct collision.

No injuries were reported, and the accident did not cause significant traffic delays.

It added that the affected toll lane has been temporarily closed for repairs while the remaining three lanes remain operational.

Both NLEX officials and the truck driver have yet to issue statements as the investigation continues.

Motorists were advised to drive carefully when approaching the area and to observe traffic advisories posted at the site.
