Barangay Ginebra heaved a huge sigh of relief as Jeremiah Gray, after yet another injury scare in the Kings’ Philippine Cup debut, looked just fine on his way out of the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, April 23.

The Ginebra wingman, who has just recently recovered from an ACL injury, appeared to have tweaked his left knee during a defensive battle late in the Kings’ 101-80 triumph over the Terrafirma Dyip.
Gray was never fielded again although he came back into the bench after some time in the locker room.
“I was walking just fine. I did some little exercise in the locker room and everything was OK. A little bit of tightness, but nothing to restrict my range of motion. I could still put weight on it,” said Gray after coming out of the Ginebra dugout at the end of the game.
For precautionary measures, Gray is still set to undergo magnetic resonance imaging test although there’s optimism that it was nothing serious like the previous injuries that he had.
“Probably just to be safe but so far, the medical staff said there’s no need for that,” said Gray who started the game for Ginebra and finished with six points in 16 minutes of play.
“That kinda happened to me before where I tweaked a little bit, and it was just sore for a couple of days. And then I was fine,” he added.
Still, it was a scary sequence, admitted Gray, especially after it took him almost one and a half years to recover from the ACL injury.
“I think I just had an initial shock of just feeling my leg not really under me. Scared me a little bit. Kinda overreacted, for sure,” he admitted.
“Hopefully, no swelling happens,” he added.
