Several labor groups and a youth organization in Marikina have expressed their support for suspended Mayor Marcy Teodoro and 1st District Rep. Maan Teodoro for their steadfast service to Marikeños, especially during times of crisis.

In a statement, the Manggagawa Para sa Kapakanan at Pagkakaisa sa Armscor (MAKAPA-ARMSCOR), Samahan ng Manggagawa sa Sunlight Food Corporation (SMSFC), Samahang Manggagawa ng Ponderosa Leather Goods Company, Inc. (SMPLGC), Kapatirang Samahan ng Manggagawang (KASAMA) Labor Federation, and the National Confederation of Labor (NCL) said the Teodoros have proven themselves dependable, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic and various natural calamities

“Gusto namin ng politikong hindi kami iiwan, may pandemya man o may bagyo. Mabilis kumilos, kasama at nakikita namin hindi lang tuwing may kampanya. Gusto namin ng politikong na ang pamumuno ay pinupuri hindi lang sa Marikina kundi sa buong bansa dahil sa kanyang sipag at galing sa pagharap sa mga problema noong pandemya at tuwing may sakuna (We want a politician who will not leave us, regardless if there is a pandemic or typhoon. Someone who acts fast and is with us during times of need and not just during campaigns. We want a politician whose leadership is not just recognized here in Marikina, but also in the whole country because of his skills and determination in facing problems during the pandemic and every time there is a disaster)," the groups said.

“Dahil dito, ang mga manggagawa ng Marikina, kasama ang aming pamilya at ang malaking mayorya ng mamamayan ng Marikina, ay nagpahayag ng pagsuporta sa buong Team MARikina City. Ipaglalaban namin sila at ipagtatanggol, tulad ng paglaban at pagtatanggol nila sa mga manggagawa (Because of this, workers in Marikina, together with our families and the majority of Marikina residents, air our support to the whole Team MARikina City. We will fight for them and protect them just like what they did for us workers)," it added.

They also denounced politicians who use politics merely as a tool to gain power and wealth, those who pretend to be Marikeños just to qualify for candidacy, and those who change their stance based on political convenience.

Meanwhile, the Kabataang Marikeño Organization also issued an official statement of support for the Teodoros and Team MARikina City, citing Mayor Teodoro’s track record and programs that have benefitted the youth.

They praised the peace, order, and cleanliness of the city, attributing them to Mayor Marcy's years of dedicated service.

The group also vowed to stand with and defend Teodoro, saying he has consistently addressed the needs of Marikeños through the years, especially the youth.
