DOT-Cordillera Regional Director Jovita Ganongan said the activity is in line with the Family Food Month observed every April.
She said that this year, they have placed Mangan Taku stickers in hotels and restaurants that serve Cordilleran cuisine in their menus to enable guests to know that these are available in their establishments.
The annual Mangan Taku Food Fair was endorsed by the Regional Development Council and various local governments to ensure the widest participation of concerned stakeholders in line with the aggressive promotion of Cordilleran cuisine to foreign and local tourists.
Ganongan said through the food fair, tourists and even Cordillerans no longer need to go to different provinces in the region to taste native delicacies because these are available in one place.
The Mangan Taku Food Fair was institutionalized by City Ordinance No. 81 in 2019 and pursuant to Proclamation No. 469 issued in 2018 declaring the month of April as Filipino Food Month that aims to promote the traditions and culinary treasures of the Philippines.
