A 68-year-old doctor was found dead inside an abandoned sports utility vehicle (SUV) along Mindanao Avenue extension, Barangay Pasong Putik in Quezon City on Saturday, April 19.
According to the police report, the victim was stabbed to death with a pair of iris scissors.
Based on the dashcam footage of the SUV, a man was seen entering the vehicle on Friday, April 18, then 30 minutes later, the footage captured what appeared to be the man attacking the victim, repeatedly stabbing him.
The victim’s mobile phone, wallet, and other personal belongings were stolen.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) immediately launched a manhunt operation and arrested the suspect on Tuesday, April 24.
The physician’s ATM card and nail cutter were recovered from the suspect.
“Nakuha sa kanya itong mga gamit ng biktima, particularly ang kanyang ATM, nail cutter na positively identified ng kanyang driver,” QCPD spokesperson capt Febie Madrid said.
The suspect denied the allegations and said he just looked like the real suspect.
Authorities said the suspect underwent inquest proceedings and will face robbery with homicide charges.
