Razon-led gaming firm Bloomberry Resorts Corporation is on track to launch its new electronic gaming product in late May or early June this year as it bets on the rapidly growing online gaming business to compensate for revenue losses due to the exit of Chinese players from Philippine offshore gaming operations (POGO).
“Launching in the second quarter of 2025, this new mainstream brand will complement Solaire Online and is anticipated to bring our brand of online gaming entertainment to Filipinos nationwide,” said Bloomberry Chairman and CEO Enrique K. Razon Jr. during the firm’s annual stockholders’ meeting.
He added, “In a bid to secure the long-term success of our business, we seek to further increase our presence in mass market gaming through a new electronic gaming product.”
Razon noted that, “With our best-in-class integrated resort products and expanded exposure to online gaming, we have an unrivaled and highly diverse portfolio of revenue sources that will solidify our position as the top gaming firm in the Philippines and the region.”
“We are on track in the system. Our online business now is undergoing extensive testing. It is running now and we are on track for a full launch around the end of May, early June,” Razon said.
He said Bloomberry’s strategy to recover the loss of Pogo revenue since the ban in July of last year is to continuously ramp up its new property in Solaire North and further ramp up Solaire Entertainment City, coupled with the expected growth in the Philippine economy in the near term.
“Our strategy of aggressively pursuing our online business is how we intend to recover whatever lost revenue there was,” he stressed.
Bloomberry maintains that Metro Manila remains an important gaming destination for both local and international patrons and will start growing from where it ended last year over the median term.
“We are encouraged by the guidance of our country's economic managers who have set a six percent to eight percent annual GDP (gross domestic product) growth range until 2028.
“As incomes grow, so does discretionary spending from which our business can benefit. As for tourism, both the Philippine Department of Tourism and the World Tourism Organization remain optimistic on the prospects for the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region, respectively,” said Razon.
He said the government’s tax refund program for non-resident tourists, intending to increase inbound visitation, demonstrates its commitment to boost the tourism industry.
“Tactically speaking, our goals are threefold. We direct Solaire Entertainment City back to growth, increase revenues at Solaire North, bringing it to profitability, and further broaden our presence in online gaming,” said Razon.
