TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Three men were found dead near the house of a barangay official in Purok 7, Barangay San Julian, this city, on Thursday morning, April 24.

Police identified the victims as Santos Calsiyao, Tokar Calsiyao, and Leo Palat Calsiyao.
Investigation said gunshots were heard between 6:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. near the residence of Barangay Kagawad Cleve Dumaguing, alias Banatao, a member of the Biga tribe.
Two M16 rifles and a shotgun were found near the bodies of the victims.
Police said the victims were the Calsiyao family from Barangay Basao Dilag here.
Lawmen are gathering pieces of evidence in the crime scene and conducting follow-up investigation.
Police said tribal dispute, which is a common trigger of violence in the province, could be a reason of the incident.
Authorities urged people who have information about the incident to contact authorities.
Police Col. James Mangili, Kalinga police chief, condemned the incident and appealed to the families of the victims to let lawmen do their job.
“We encourage the public to stay calm and not escalate the situation. We assure the public that the PNP is doing its job to maintain security and peace and order,” he said.
