Senatorial aspirant Camille Villar received a major show of support in Zambales on Monday, as Governor Hermogenes Ebdane, Jr. and several local officials threw their full backing behind the youngest candidate in the 2025 Senate race.
Villar, 40, visited the towns of Castillejos, Iba, and Olongapo as part of her provincial campaign swing, meeting with a range of sectors including senior citizens, youth groups, and civic organizations.
“Partnership between national and local government is key to progress,” Villar told residents, stressing her commitment to responsive governance that addresses the specific needs of communities outside Metro Manila.
Ebdane praised Villar’s track record in public service and her family’s longstanding support for Zambales, especially in infrastructure and agriculture. He urged constituents to vote wisely in the upcoming elections.
“Marami tayong naririnig na pangalan, pero isa lang ang kandidata natin dito — si Camille Villar,” said Ebdane during a public gathering, as he campaigned under the summer heat alongside Villar.
“‘Pag totoo ang serbisyo, kahit pagod ka na, nawawala ang pagod,” he added, drawing applause from the crowd.
Also present to welcome Villar were Mayor Jeff Khonghun, Vice Mayor Christian Esposo, and other local leaders who echoed the governor’s endorsement.
In Iba, Villar led an activity under the “RICEUP” initiative, promoting agribusiness training as a tool to uplift the livelihoods of farmers and fisherfolk. She highlighted the potential of such programs to boost income and improve food security, aligning with her advocacy of “sipag at tiyaga” as a path to success.
Later, in Olongapo City, Villar met with senior citizens during an event led by Mayor Rolen Paulino, Jr. at SMX Olongapo, where she pledged to push for policies that safeguard the welfare and rights of the elderly.
As the campaign season heats up, Villar’s Zambales visit bolstered her support base and reinforced her image as a dynamic, results-driven leader focused on inclusive development.
