P-pop group 1621BC

I first met the P-Pop group 1621BC, composed of JM, JC, Pan, Win, Migz, and DJ, when I hosted the Appreciation Night of the Multimedia Press Society (MMPRESS) last year. (kinilig ako ha!) I immediately noticed their unique talent and style during their performance. (gusto ko na nga sila iuwi that night!)

Last January, they dropped BC from the group’s name. They want to be called: 1621. (basta kayo mga bro ko!)

“Mas gusto naming tumatak sa tao yung pangalan namin na 1621. 1621 po kasi is an angel number which means success, fulfillment and new beginnings. New beginnings since galing kami sa isang reality show sa ABS-CBN, na lahat kami di nanalo," JM explains. (winner at nakatatak na  kayo sa heart ko mga bro!)

“From the first album, nasa point kami na parang hinahanap pa namin yung sound namin. We tried different styles, different genres. So maybe yung advantage ng second EP namin is nahanap na namin yung sound namin, yung identity namin, nahanap na namin yung songs for us," Pan shares. (may song ba for “us” ?!)

“Simple lang po kasi lahat ng songs sa EP namin, sapul at tagos talaga sya sa puso. so Kapag, inlove ka or may crush ka, sapul na sapul sa puso,"  DJ adds. (parang ng tagos ng dugo the movie ni ate vi!)

Sapulso EP tracklist includes Bagamundo, Maria, Diwata, Stuck, Secret, and Bababa, which is now a trending dance craze. They even collaborated with  SB19, BGYO, Michelle Dee, and other celebrities for this single. (Dapat ako next!)

“Sobrang saya namin kasi sobrang saya naming ginawa yung Bababa. Nafeel naming kung paano nag enoy mga tao, kung paano sya sayawin, paano sya gawing trend. So tuwang tuwa kami sa pagtanggap ng casuals sa Bababa," JC says. (sana matanggap n'yo love ko sa inyo mga bro!)
