The league approved the deal Wednesday, April 23, with the Batang Pier getting Kwekuteye to pair up with his college backcourt running mate Evan Nelle at NorthPort.

The two gained fame as part of the San Beda Red Lions team that made it to the Finals of the NCAA Season 95. They, however, fell prey to the Letran Knights led by Fran Yu, coincidentally, their teammate as well at NorthPort.

The move is now the second deal the Batang Pier had struck since their breakthrough semifinals appearance in the Commissioners Cup. Before the start of the all-Filipino Cup, NorthPort shipped JM Calma to San Miguel for seldom-used rookie Avan Nava.

For the part of the Bossing, they finally got a big man to man the paint and help Clifford Jopia, Bradwyn Guinto and Christian David.

Tratter, for one, should also be hungry for minutes after being planted on the bench of NorthPort since the team acquired him in a trade that also included Jio Jalalon from Magnolia in exchange for Zav Lucero.
