A total of 150 personnel of the Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) have been found negative of illegal drugs use, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said on Wednesday, April 23.

In a statement, the BuCor said that the personnel underwent a surprise random drugs test last April 22 in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region VIII.
“The proactive initiative was led by Acting Superintendent, C/Supt. Ricardo Sespene Jr., who emphasized the importance of maintaining a drug-free and disciplined working environment, ensuring operational efficiency and the overall security within the prison,” it said.
“The screening was executed with professionalism and thoroughness, and the results were commendably negative for illegal substances,” it also said.
The BuCor explained that a muster inspection was conducted “to ensure the accountability, readiness, and discipline of the entire LRP personnel.”
