“I understand the congestion in regional and government hospitals, so definitely, we will take a look into their emergency cases,” Benitez said.
He said that the city government has a memorandum of agreement with CLMMRH to extend its emergency facility. The proposed facility will be located at the old provincial office of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) near the Reclamation Area at Dawis Extension in Barangay 14.
Benitez said that the city will allocate P50 to P60 million for the construction of the facility to be manned by the CLMMRH personnel in collaboration with the city government.
He said that the project will begin after the midterm elections due to the implementation of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) ban on new projects during the campaign period.
Benitez said that the majority of patients at CLMMRH are from this city, making the collaboration reasonable and necessary.
Some netizens recently revealed their negative experiences at CLMMRH on social media.
Benitez said that he has to wait for the actual report to be able to respond accordingly. "It's hard to depend on social media posts," he added.
