Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial candidate Makati City Mayor Abby Binay has received reassurance of support from the vote-rich province of Cebu less than three weeks before the polls.
This, after Binay received the endorsements of 31 mayors from the different cities and municipalities of the province during a meet and greet in Cebu City on Tuesday, April 22.
Cebu has 3.7 million voters in the upcoming May 12 mid-term elections, making it a key campaign spot for the Senate hopefuls.
Earlier, Binay was endorsed by Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia, the leader of the influental One Cebu party.
Binay thanked her fellow mayors for their support, and stated that one of her priorities in the Senate will be the amendment of the 1991 Local Government Code.

The administration bet says this is crucial in strengthening the capability of local governments to respond to the needs of their constituents.
Also present during the Tuesday meeting were Congresswoman Rhea Gullas and Congressman Peter John Calderon.
Binay has vowed to advocate for better healthcare including free maintenance medicines, especially for the elderly, better education system with greater focus on early childhood education, and tax-free overtime pay and bonuses for better takehome pay of workers in government and the private sector.
