The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Tuesday, April 22, took immediate action following the circulation of a viral video on social media showing a police officer allegedly committing acts of abuse, harassment, and unlawful entry while reportedly under the influence of alcohol.
According to the QCPD, the officer in question has already been arrested and will undergo inquest proceedings for violating Republic Act 7610 or Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act – Physical Injury and Violation of Domicile. His service firearm has also been confiscated.
The QCPD assured the public that all necessary administrative and criminal charges will be filed promptly, adding that internal mechanisms are in place to ensure the officer faces the full extent of the law.
The incident has sparked outrage online, drawing renewed attention to the need for strict accountability among law enforcement personnel.
