Netflix’s 'When Life Gives You Tangerines’ chosen No. 1 favorite TV program in April

Netflix’s Korean drama “When Life Gives You Tangerines” is the No. 1 favorite TV program in April this year.

Polling firm Gallup Korea released the results of its monthly survey of the favorite TV programs covering TV and OTT programs excluding news programs.

The survey was conducted in South Korea from April 15 to 17 among 1,000 respondents aged 18 and older nationwide. Starting in 2023, Gallup Korea started including OTT programs in the survey.

It asked the respondents, “What is your favorite TV program these days? Excluding the news.”

“When Life Gives You Tangerines,” which was released on Netflix in March, stars IU, Park Bo-gum, Moon So-ri, and Park Hae-joon.

In the survey, “When Life Gives You Tangerines” took first place with 11.7 percent. It is the fifth Netflix original production to rank first in the survey since 2023.

These were “The Glory” (14.8 percent), “Culinary Class Wars” (7.8 percent), “Squid Game” season 2 (5.6 percent), and “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” (5.1 percent).

Placing second in the survey is the KBS2 drama “For Eagle Brothers” with 3 percent followed by the SBS drama “Buried Hearts” (2.9 percent), ENA entertainment program “I Am Solo” (2.5 percent), and the TV Chosun entertainment program “Mr. Trot 3” (2.1 percent).
