MPD's Sampaloc police station lauded for outstanding service

The Sampaloc Police Station (PS4) of the Manila Police District has been honored with multiple awards in recognition of its exemplary performance in law enforcement, crime prevention, and public service.

Under the leadership of Lt. Col. Brillante F. Billaoc, the station was cited for its exceptional contributions to maintaining peace and order in the Sampaloc area.

 During the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held in line with the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Executive Visit and Focus Group Discussion, the PS4 personnel received commendations for their outstanding achievements.

Billaoc was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for his unwavering commitment and exemplary leadership from December 12, 2024, to April 21, 2025. 

Several specialized units within the station also received Certificates of Commendation for their specific accomplishments:

The Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) was recognized for arresting 20 individuals and seizing 690 grams of suspected shabu and 80 grams of marijuana—illegal drugs valued at over P4.8 million.

Gulod Police Community Precinct (PCP) was commended for apprehending 43 suspects involved in various offenses, including illegal possession of firearms, property usurpation, and physical injuries.

Calabash PCP and the Investigation Section earned praise for their swift resolution of a robbery-hold-up case with attempted homicide, showcasing efficient coordination and investigative skills.

The Intelligence and Warrant Section was celebrated for executing 70 arrest warrants. Their accomplishments included the arrest of a Regional Level Top 10 Most Wanted Person (Rank 2) and several other district and local offenders.

The awards were conferred by Brig. zgen. Josephus G. Angan (Ret.), Commissioner of NAPOLCOM, who cited the personnel’s dedication, professionalism, and vital role in ensuring public safety and justice.

“These commendations reflect the consistent dedication of our team to serve with integrity and protect the community. We remain committed to our mission of effective law enforcement,” said Billaoc.
