A 12-year-old girl was stabbed by a man with a screwdriver while waiting in line to ask for assistance from a TV network along Reliance Street in Mandaluyong City early Tuesday morning, April 22.
The Mandaluyong City Police said the incident happened at around 3 a.m.
Witnesses said the suspect suddenly grabbed the cellphone of the girl and stabbed her before escaping.
The girl is now in stable condition after she was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect was caught by the police hiding inside the basement parking lot of the TV station's compound at around 7 a.m.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspect has been seen roaming near the scene of the crime for days. He refused to talk to the media following his arrest.
