Three people were killed while 17 others were injured in Bacolod City after an Indian national lost control and rammed his vehicle among Catholic devotees participating in a Good Friday procession.
An overloaded jeep turned on its side while maneuvering a downhill road in Miag-ao town, Iloilo province on Black Saturday.
More than 60 people from a clan in Alimodian town, Iloilo province were injured. They were on their way to a beach resort in San Joaquin town, Iloilo when they figured in the accident.
In the show-cause orders, LTO-6 Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan II asked the drivers and the vehicle owners to explain the incident in writing.
The LTO-6 is working to revoke the driver’s license of the Indian national for the deaths of three people.
He was also found to be driving under the influence of alcohol when he failed LTO’s alcohol breath analyzer test.
Geduspan said the jeepney driver in Iloilo was reckless for allowing more passengers than the vehicle’s seating capacity.
Before the accident, the jeepney was filled with passengers and even the entire roof had people on board.
