ILOILO CITY—The Holy Week was generally peaceful in Western Visayas region.
Except for vehicular accidents, the Police Regional Office-6 did not record any major criminal incidents in Western Visayas.

This was attributed to the deployment of police all over Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces as well as the regional capital of Iloilo City during religious activities, including masses, processions, and the Visita Iglesia.
There was also a significant presence of police in bus terminals, seaports, airports, and key tourist destinations across the region.
The PRO-6 acknowledged the contributions of local government units (LGUs), national government agencies (NGAs), barangay tanods, rescue groups, and other force multipliers in helping maintain peace and order.
“They selflessly rendered their services, resulting in a safe, peaceful, and orderly 2025 Lenten celebration,” said Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director.
