- Castro said Marcos is focused on governance based on law and principle, not popularity.
President Marcos is not alarmed by the recent drop in his approval and trust ratings and will continue to perform his duties regardless of survey results.

Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said this after a March 2025 Pulse Asia survey showed the President's public approval ratings falling by 17 percentage points from 42 percent in February. His disapproval ratings went up from 32 percent to 53 percent.
“Hindi po nabahala ang Pangulo sa anumang rating sa survey (The President is not alarmed by any rating in the survey)," she said on Monday, April 21.
“Ang Pangulo kahit anumang rating—mataas, mababa—magpapatuloy siya sa kanyang trabaho (The President, regardless of whether the rating is high or low, will continue with his work)," she added.
Castro said Marcos is focused on governance based on law and principle, not popularity.
“Hindi po siya mapapahinto ng anumang survey (He will not be stopped by any survey)," she said.
“Basta ang gagawin lamang po ng Pangulo ay gumawa ng naaayon sa batas at magtrabaho nang tama (The only thing the President will do is to act in accordance with the law and work properly)," she added.
Sample size and reason
According to Castro, the survey's sample size of 2,400 respondents does not reflect the sentiment of the entire country.
"Hindi po ito kabuuan na sentimiento ng buong Pilipinas (2,400 is not the entirety of the sentiment of the whole Philippines)," she said.
The Palace Press Officer also cited the possible influence of fake news and disinformation on the public’s perception.
"Dapat natin malaman ang mga respondents, saan ang mga respondents, ang mga respondents ba ito ay nakakatanggap ng totoong news o nai-impluwensyahan ng fake news. So ang mga respondents ba na ito ay hindi nakakarating ang tulong ng gobyerno (We should know the details about the respondents if they receive correct news or if they're influenced by fake news, or if government assistance reach them)," she said.
“Baka po kasi nasasapawan ng good news, ng mga fake news (Perhaps the good news is being overshadowed by fake news)," she added.
Castro stressed that the President remains committed to pushing through with his plans despite criticisms.
“Magtatrabaho pa rin ang Pangulo. Katulad ng ating sinabi, kung ano ang tama, kung ano ang sa batas, hindi dahil ito ang idinidikta ng tao na hindi naman naaayon sa batas (The President will still work. As we said, on what is right, what is within the law, not because of what is dictated by people that is not in accordance with the law)," she said.
