BACOLOD CITY - A 41-year-old woman was arrested by authorities after she was caught with a sachet of suspected shabu worth P3,400 during a visit to her live-in partner at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility in Barangay 2, Victorias City, Negros Occidental on Sunday, April 20.

The suspect, identified as Princess, a resident of Barangay 2, Victorias City, was intercepted by a female jail officer at the searching area at around 2 p.m.
Police Lt. Col. Terence Paul Santa Ana, Victorias police chief, said the contraband was hidden inside the visitor’s rolled pants.
Jail Senior Insp. Juniven Rey Umadhay, chief, legal section and spokesperson for BJMP-6 (Western Visayas), said the suspect was about to visit a Person Deprived of Liberty (DPL) with a drug offense.
Santa Ana said that Princess was under police drug monitoring as she was classified as a street-level individual.
He said that charges for violation of Section 21 (Custody and Disposition of Confiscated, Seized, and/or Surrendered Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against Princess on Monday, April 21.
The BJMP-6 vowed to continue strengthening their measures and policies in detecting and confiscating contrabands to prevent their entry inside jails.
BJMP-6 chief Jail Chief Supt. Simeon Dolojo Jr. lauded the dedication and commitment of BJMP personnel for their devotion to duty.
