A fire hit a convenience store inside a mall in Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa on April 21, causing P400,000 in damages.
In a report, the Muntinlupa City Fire Station said the fire started from the JGO Mart at about 7:44 a.m.
The brief fire was put out at 8:02 a.m. when firefighters arrived at the scene.

Authorities are investigating the origin and cause of the blaze.
A total of five fire trucks and three ambulances responded to the incident.
In a statement, the mall said customers and mall merchants were evacuated when the fire broke out.
“At 7:44 am, a minor fire incident happened inside one of the merchant’s kitchen at the 1st floor. South Park Center Building Administration and Mall’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) promptly responded to control the fire and assist customers and mall merchants in evacuation,” it said.
It added, “At 7:52 am, fire was under control and fire out was officially declared by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) upon their arrival at 8:02 am. The cause of fire is still under investigation. No injuries reported during the incident. Normal mall operations resumed after the area was cleared.”
“The safety and well-being of our shoppers, merchants, and staff remain our highest priority. Thank you for your continued support and understanding,” the mall said.
